Identifying the values of your Staff and Management Team is a really useful tool for empowering your staff. Many organisations implement a vision or value statement, but when the last time you found out what was really makes your employees tick?
Each and every one of us, has a value structure which leads us either towards something or away from something. For example, if you value feeling appreciated, this is a something you move towards feeling. However, if you move away from rejection, this is a value you don’t want to feel!
I recently ran a staff engagement and empowerment session where we identified the 5 key ‘moving towards’ values of employees. These were as follows:
Following this workshop, I then worked with the Leadership Team to implement a simple strategy to ensure that employees had these values met on a regular basis. The strategy does not need to be complicated nor expensive. However, the good news is that the result was a far more engaged and empowered group of employees.
